Due to a glitch with the “Kannada” section of the UGC-NETexaminations, candidates who were affected will be rescheduled (Shift-I) Technical difficulties at some UGC-NET Phase 2 test centers in the subject “Kannada” prevented the scheduled examination from taking place on 20, 21, 22 Sept (Shift-1).

They have chosen to postpone the exam for these students. Rescheduled exams will be rescheduled and reissued with amended admit cards for these students soon. Eligibility Criteria

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has established a set of eligibility requirements for candidates. The University of Georgia’s National Electronic Telecommunications Network (UGC The following criteria are used to determine a candidate’s eligibility:

Education Qualification

  • Candidates must have achieved at least 55% marks (50%) in their Post Graduation or equivalent from a recognized university in order to be eligible for consideration.
  • All students, including those in their last year, are entitled to sit for the exam. Upon passing their qualifying exam with the required minimum grades, they will be considered for a JRF or professorship award.
  • An additional five percent of the minimum mark requirement is granted to PhD holders who finished their post-graduation exam before September 19, 1991 (regardless of the date on which their results were declared).

According to the UGC NET schedule, the following dates have been rescheduled for Phase 2 exams:

Age Limit

  • For UGC NET Assistant Professorship, there is no upper age limit.
  • For the forthcoming exam, the maximum age limit is 31 years as of October 1, 2022. However, the JRF’s maximum age limit is still 30 years old.
  • Candidates from the reserved categories can, however, benefit from an age relaxation in accordance with Indian government standards when applying for the NET JRF.
